February 3, 2010, Posted by admin at 12:54 am

The Oscars are here, so get ready for the A List stunners waltzing down the red carpet with class. As everyone would expect Avatar has topped the nominations list and if it doesn’t win best picture it’s because he’s up against his ex-wife! The Hurt Locker, directed by ex-wifey Kathryn Bigelow, dominated the nominations also with nine apiece, including best picture.

Bigelow is tipped to win the director’s prize. I love the fact Bigelow is only the fourth woman to be nominated and would be the first female winner. Girl Power!

Could Robert Pattinson become the new Spiderman?

January 17, 2010, Posted by admin at 11:08 pm

The Twilight sensation Edward Cullen, I mean Robert Pattinson, is one of the hot favourites to clinch the lead role in the new Spider-Man 4 movie replacing Toby Maguire.

The Daily Variety reported movie bosses are planning to make a prequel about Spider-Man’s alter-ego, Peter Parker and Pattinson may be on the cards to play him.

A source tells the Daily Mirror, “The buzz in Hollywood is all about R-Patz as the hot, young thing being lined up to fill Tobey Maguire’s shoes. It would be a hard act to follow as fans were traumatised at the news Tobey was going.”

Could this turn into a war of the hunks as High School Musical star Zac Efron also has his eye on the role. My opinion is neither are worthy of the spider, an unknown actor may be what the Exec’s should go for. Just a little thought.

Can Avatar make you suicidal?

January 14, 2010, Posted by admin at 10:20 pm

Apparently it can as according to fans, the need to go to the planet Pandora becomes unbearable when the film ends. While watching the film they are so happy and yearn to be part of the fictional world on the fake utopian planet Pandora. But after the credits roll some fans say they are plagued by suicidal thoughts.

The James Cameron blockbuster tells the story of a typical American corporation trying to mine for a rare mineral on the planet Pandora after Earth’s resources have been depleted, sounds familiar doesn’t it? The planet is full of harmony, warmth and beauty, with fans craving this make believe world once they leave the cinema. On a website, Avatar Forums, one topic “Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible” has more than 1,000 posts. This is extremely worrying. This is one post from a Swedish teenager on another Avatar site,
“When I woke up this morning after watching Avatar for the first time yesterday, the world seemed grey. It was like my whole life, everything I’ve done and worked for, lost its meaning … It just seems so meaningless. I still don’t really see any reason to keep doing things at all. I live in a dying world.”
I seriously think some people need counselling, I mean IT’S A MOVIE! Get over it! My suggestion is to help PLANET EARTH, recycle, don’t use harmful emissions and for God’s sake stop feeling BLUE and start thinking GREEN.

The decade of utter shame for these celebs (and many others) as they couldn’t buy their way out of jail (on most cases) but got a free photoshoot!

1.    Michael Jackson

This looks like a scary character from a film, sorry Mic, it’s just too weird!

RIP the Godfather of Funk but dear lord he could’ve done his hair!

3.    Kat Williams

Love this pic as comedian Kat gives the ‘Po Po’ the cheesiest grin ever.

5.    Shia Labeouf

Either Shia overdosed on Red Bull or he is high off some other strange substance.

6.    Mischa Barton

Mischa is sporting the ‘crack-head’ look in her pic.

7.    Heather Locklear

Deer in the head lights?

8. DMX

He is so used to the mugshot routine that he pops a smile.

Trailer Review – The ‘A Team’ 2010

January 13, 2010, Posted by admin at 12:22 pm

It’s back and coming to a cinema near you but you’ll have to wait a few months until summertime for its release. If you’ve just come back from space or are under 25 you may not have heard of this 80’s TV classic remake. Directed by ”Smokin’ Aces” director Joe Carnahan and produced by famed filmmaking brothers, Tony and Ridley Scott, this movie is sure to be one of the highly anticipated movies of the year.

But I must say the trailer is, well…utter rubbish and totally predictable. Unlike Batman Returns and Casino Royale, the A Team remake is not made with a futuristic view. It looks bland, unexciting and minus the special effects, it looks like the same ol’ A Team (minus the original cast). A trailer should be the best parts of the film to entice the audience in but this is only deterring me from watching it. However, I will watch it and hope the film will be better than the trailer but as we know from Transformers 2, this probably won’t happen. Take a look, what do you think?

Sex & The City 2 Trailer

January 3, 2010, Posted by admin at 2:25 am

The first Sexy & the City film was beyond words, I was really surprised at how emotional I got. I cried not once but twice as it felt like Carrie was actually one of my friends! I’m so happy that their doing another film but wonder if it can be as good? I mean I’m a fan from the TV show and will still watch the re-runs but the trailer doesn’t seem so exciting as the first film. What are your thoughts?

Top 10 Best Christmas Movies Ever

December 23, 2009, Posted by admin at 3:50 pm

Nothing says Christmas like a top Christmas film, here’s the top ten of all time:

1. The Snowman

In which a little boy learns the hard way about investing far too much emotion in the essentially entropic nature of certain elemental forces.

2. Bad Santa

Billy Bob Thornton’s department store Santa gets drunk a lot and falls over.

3. Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington attempts to combine Christmas with Halloween… with hee-larious results! Actually, it’s not hilarious. It’s horrible.

4. Scrooged

Bill Murray’s cynical TV exec is shown the error of his ways in this ‘Christmas Carol’ update.

5. Brazil

Owing to a literal fly in the works, innocent family man Harry Buttle is impounded at Christmas, charged for his own arrest and sadistically tortured until he be dead. Merry Christmas from Terry Gilliam.

6. The Muppet Christmas Carol

The Muppets’ take on the Dickens classic with Michael Caine stepping into the miser’s shoes.

7. Gremlins

A mogwai isn’t just for Christmas.

8. Die Hard

Strange, but a lot of people forget this is set at Christmas, with Bruce Willis flying out to meet his wife for the festive season. And walking into a world of yippee-ki-hurt.

9. Trading Places

Notable for the scene in which a broken, booze-reeking Dan Aykroyd pulls a fish from his Kris Kringle beard and, later, a loaded revolver. He’s a bit unhappy.

10. Love Actually

In which Emma Thompson makes the steeliest cynic blub like a broken fire hydrant.

According to Channel 4.

Avatar – The future of film or a Smurf tale?

December 8, 2009, Posted by admin at 8:00 am

I just watched the trailer for Avatar and I must admit I am eagerly awaiting its cinema release next week. I think the trailer was as near as amazing as could be but then again so was Transformers and look how that film turned out – utter rubbish! But I do have high hopes for Avatar, I love the soundtrack, graphics, motion capture, the unknown actors – just about everything really, but my only concern is can the story actually be any good? Again, with Transformers the graphics were much stronger than the invisible storyline and the only storyline I could see was some not funny transformers along with a sexy actress, Megan Fox, bending over constantly. I really hope James Cameron can push the boundaries within the future of cinema and dash all the Smurf comparisons aside.

Twilight – New Moon or New Dawn?

November 28, 2009, Posted by admin at 2:38 pm

Right let’s get this straight, I am a 25 year old women and am in danger of becoming one of those obsessed teenage girls who love Edward Cullen and the Twilight saga. I am currently reading, very rapidly I must add, the New moon book prior to seeing it in the cinemas. I hear the film is amazing and the love is now shifting from Edward Cullen to Jacob Black. Yes I’ve seen the clips of his muscular body and yes I feel sickened as I enjoy the body of a young man, making me feel like I need a toy boy in my life.

To get to the point I’m trying to make is, are we near a new dawn where movies such as New Moon are causing a serious frenzy among older women being drawn to younger men? I mean check out – twilightmoms.com, it’s a site where women over 25 get to basically obsess over Twilight and they even go as far as attending premieres and chasing downs the lead actors. I mean someone’s got to draw the line. Imagine your Peter Patterson and are being chased, not by sexy young women but mum’s with grey hair and wrinkles? Yes I agree, you’d be terrified and wish you were actually a vampire!
