Sony Drop Jedward

March 16, 2010, Posted by admin at 2:54 pm

jedward

Oh well, it was good while it lasted but at least Sony have come to their sense. The little Irish duo John and Edward Grimes, 18, were signed to Sony in January but it was short lived as their first song, Under Pressure, featuring Vanilla Ice, didn’t make the top spot and dropped out of the charts a week later!

Louis Walsh, confirms, ”I’m completely committed to Jedward and I know they still have a great career ahead of them. The boys have a sell-out tour in Ireland that they start straight after The X Factor Tour in April and I am in talks with a major record label about a new deal for them.”

Louie it’s time to give up on them, they can’t sing or even dance. Bye Jedward I wish it could have been a pleasure but it wasn’t…

Fears for George Michael after emergency call

February 11, 2010, Posted by admin at 3:00 pm

Police were called to look for the star in the early hours of Tuesday night and found his front door wide open at his £5million home in Highgate, North London after receiving a 999 call. I mean, only a rich superstar would do such a thing!

The Careless Whisper star was eventually found in a nearby property but neighbours have stated their concern for his recent behaviour.

“You’d be utterly mad to leave your door open in the middle of the night. This is London,” said a neighbour.

Dopehead George is seriously losing the plot, I’m a huge fan but the forgetfulness may be a sign to reduce the cannibus intake. What do you think George?

Latoya Jackson: ‘It wasn’t just the DR who killed Michael’

February 7, 2010, Posted by admin at 6:02 pm

Latoya believes multiple people murdered her brother and she can provide facts to back her claims up.

La Toya claimed, “They murdered my brother and they know who they are. It’s not just Dr. Murray I promise you that. It’s more people involved and they know exactly who they are and I’m going to let you guys know exactly what’s happening, what’s going on.”

Sources said Dr. Murray, Michael Jackson’s private Doctor, would be charged with the crime of unlawfully killing another person without malice or intent. If convicted, he faces up to four years in jail.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory is starting to brew, how exciting…

Beyonce smashes the Grammy’s with 6 Awards

February 1, 2010, Posted by admin at 3:32 pm

Well done to B who has made history at the Grammys when she collected her six trophies, including song of the year for her anthem Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It). Beyonce is the most awarded female in one night in the 52-year history of the awards show.

Although this wasn’t my favourite album of Beyonce’s, all the awards she received including best female pop vocal for her beautiful ballad Halo, are very well deceived.

“Thank you so much… this has been such an amazing night for me and I’d love to thank the Grammys…(and) all of the fans for their support over the years.”

The Kings of Leon were also triumphant winning 3 gongs including record of the year with Use Somebody.

Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John opened the night with a fantastic performance with high-energy choreography and pyrotechnics. Watch the crazy Gaga performance here;

Madonna & Britney Spears Snog wins award

January 28, 2010, Posted by admin at 8:25 pm

That’s right the infamous and totally unnecessary, in my opinion, kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears’ at the MTV Video Music Awards has been voted the top kiss of the decade.

The pop superstars made headlines around the world after they smooched at the annual ceremony in 2003. Selfridges has branded the kiss the most iconic of the noughties.

Runner’s up were Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst’s passionate embrace in 2002′s Spider-Man and Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal’s snog in Brokeback Mountain.

China Bans Miming – Britney avoids it on World Tour

January 26, 2010, Posted by admin at 12:11 am

Oh Britney, why bother being a singer if you can’t do it live? The return of Britney Spears was a comeback everyone wanted to be wowed by. But just like the shaving incident there’s controversy. The Circus world tour was critised by reviewers, journalists and fans for her miming and the price it cost to watch her do it! The cheek of it!

It’s funny how Miss Baldy skipped China off her world tour, couldn’t have been because of the ban huh Brit? I love this ban and think it separates the good performers from the bad one’s, Britney you know which category you go in.

Hope for Haiti Now – Fantastic show & surprise from Madonna…

January 23, 2010, Posted by admin at 2:55 am

What a brilliant event, which I watched live on Youtube at 1am (GMT). A great show and should make us all want to donate!

But among all the fantastic performances there was one that really stood out. That person was Madonna, instead of her being half naked, thrusting around the stage like a dog on heat, she gave an outstanding performance with all her clothes on. I mean who knew she owned a pair of trousers?

My advise to you all is that if you didn’t get to watch the show,  get onto Itunes and purchase some of the performances. Haiti needs us and you need to see Madonna looking her age – Go Madge!

January 22, 2010, Posted by admin at 9:12 pm

All props go to the gorgeous George Clooney for organising the US telethon for the earthquake survivors in Haiti. The devastating earthquake that has possibly killed over 200,000, has taken over the news worldwide with the disturbing images of the ravaged Island.

Star’s such as Bono, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Key’s will be performing but Kanye West has not been invited due to recent behaviour. According to Popeater an unnamed producer of the telethon said on the record that “it’s just best that [Kanye] does not participate,” that “[Kanye] has to make everything about himself” and that “[Kanye] will do anything to steal the spotlight.”
The Hope For Haiti Now gig Clooney is currently organising takes place tonight and will be hosted by Clooney and Haiti-born singer Wyclef Jean. It will be streamed live on Youtube at 8pm ET.
The telethon aspect of the event will raise money for Red Cross, Oxfam, Partners In Health and Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation, who are trying to bring aid to the country in the aftermath of last week’s earthquake.
Viewers can contribute to the telethon as follows: Online at HopeForHaitiNow.org, over the phone by calling (877) 99-HAITI, by texting the word “GIVE” to 50555 or by mail addressed to Hope for Haiti Now Fund, Entertainment Industry Foundation, 1201 West 5th St., Suite T-700, Los Angeles, CA, 90017.

Snoop Dogg wants to Vamp it up on True Blood

January 12, 2010, Posted by admin at 8:53 pm

Yes the Dogg wants to become a vampire on his favourite show, True Blood. I can see the appeal as I am a huge fan but lead actress Anna Paquin doesn’t seem to think so. Paquin doesn’t believe Snoop will get a chance for the cameo he is aiming for.

She told E! news: “If it were an appropriate character, then why not? We have all types of people on the show, but we don’t really… put people on the show for the sake of putting people on the show.”

The rapper is a massive fan of the successful vampire drama and even raps about True Blood it in his latest song Gangsta Luv. He even lets his young children watch the sexy HBO show. I think Snoop should be cast as another shape shifter like Sam Merlot, that way at least he can keep the D O G G behaviour!

January 11, 2010, Posted by admin at 10:52 pm

Hot off the press – Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol to launch his own show, The X Factor. For those of you who don’t know The X Factor, it’s one of the most successful British talent shows of all time and Simon created it! It will smash the USA when it arrives and Simon will cash in on it BIG time.
Cowell and top Fox executives made the announcement in California, at a Television Critics Association meeting. Cowell said: “I was offered a lot of money to stay on. But that wasn’t the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge.”
What Simon is not saying is that he will make much more money on The X Factor than he could ever make on Idol. The times when you wish you were Simon…

Amy Winehouse throws a punch and gets charged

December 23, 2009, Posted by admin at 4:40 pm

‘Wino’ Winehouse has been charged with assault after allegedly punching a theatre manager at a pantomime performance of Cinderella (UK).

According to reports, Winehouse disrupted the performance last Saturday by repeatedly yelling: “He’s ——- behind you!” Witnesses also claimed she referred to the Ugly Sisters as “bitches”. She was so upsetting that kids in the audience burst into tears!

When the manager asked her to move seats, Winehouse allegedly punched and kicked him. What is up with this woman, does she want to end up in jail? Maybe she wants to form a connection with her reconciled ex-husband? Or maybe she is just as nuts as people say she is…

Will this girl ever look in the mirror?

Madonna, Icon of the Noughties

December 22, 2009, Posted by admin at 2:45 pm

It wouldn’t surprise you that Madge, as we call her in the UK, has attracted more media coverage in the past decade than any other celebrity. The Noughties have been all about Madonna. Madge has been mentioned in a massive 45,633 articles in the British press over the last 10 years, almost 17,000 times more than her nearest rival, Robbie Williams.

Madonna was the bestselling female artist of the 20th century when 1999 came to a close, but over the decade she has continued to dominate the headlines thanks to her eventful personal and Pop life as well her high-profile marriage & divorce to British director Guy Ritchie.

Madonna is a true Icon and will surely dominate the decade to come.

December 20, 2009, Posted by admin at 10:15 pm

Mr Cowell, the cruel X Factor judge, topped a poll after more than 1,000 children were asked who was the most famous person in the world. Runners up were The Queen in second place and God in third. The X Factor also gained 7th place in the top 10 best things in the world. Not bad for a man who looks like he’s constantly wearing the same clothes.

More than 1,400 children across the UK took part in the poll, which was organised by Luton First, an organisation set up to promote the Bedfordshire town.

Can cassettes make a comeback?

December 14, 2009, Posted by admin at 4:20 pm

Has it really been just two years since the beloved cassette was cast away from retailer shelves? Remember when rewinding took forever and how annoyed you’d get when your favourite tape got chewed up? Well you can get those memories back as cassettes make a comeback. Record companies are now releasing music on tape again due to growing demand from our elders. Grannies and granddad’s everywhere can’t download and haven’t got time for CD’s, so they have been hoping for this day of glory to come. Island Records spotted the niche in the market after fans began emailing Amazon, requesting an album on cassette. Universal Music UMTV will also join the cassette revolution. Shame it’s just for oldies music, I miss tapes!

Cassette is not dead

50 cent wants a piece of Boyle

December 7, 2009, Posted by admin at 5:10 pm

Can you imagine listening to a 50 cent featuring Susan Boyle track? I can’t either, but 50 is hoping to gain a collabo with the new international singing sensation. He confirms,
“She’s got an amazing voice, and together we’d get everyone dancing. I’m always looking to do something new and she’s cool, so I’ll ask somebody to let her know.”
He added: “I’d love to take her clubbing, show her around my world. She’d have a great time.”
I mean 50 and Boyle living it up on a Hip Hop dance floor? Nah, I don’t think so! But you never know, this could be a new horizon for Boyle, maybe even a possible date?

A potential album cover for a 50 and SuBo collabo!

The Pope raps with Tupac on MySpace

December 3, 2009, Posted by admin at 10:23 am

The Vatican released a playlist to Myspace Music recently and two things intrigued me. Why are the Vatican interested in Myspace Music and why would the pope listen to Tupac? I mean, Tupac is one of my favourite artists but the Pope and Tupac seem like oil and water-they don’t mix or at least they shouldn’t. Within the playlist there is also Muse and Shirley Bassey, maybe it was a playlist they thought would get attention and get down with the ‘people’ and it certainly has worked. Here’s the 10 top of the Vatican playlist:
1. Advocata Nostra – Music From The Vatican. From the album Alma Mater featuring the voice of Pope Benedict XVI.

2. Uprising – Muse. Single from the album, The Resistance.

3. Causa Nostrae Laetitiae – Music From The Vatican. From the album Alma Mater.

4. Il Mare Mi Salva – Rossomalpelo. Song from the band led by contemporary Italian singer songwriter Serge Gaggiotti

5. After The Rain – Dame Shirley Bassey. From the album The Performance.

6. Coexist – Nour Eddine. Song from Moroccan Musician, based in Italy.

7. Don Giovanni – Mozart.

8. Rafaele Merry Del Val – Lorenzo Perosi Inni Mottetti e Canzoni, Pablo Colino & Coro Academica Filarmonica Romana.

9. He Doesn’t Know Why – Fleet Foxes.

10. Changes – Tupac Shakur.

Go Pope!!!

Susan Boyle – Has she reached Boyleing point???

November 30, 2009, Posted by admin at 7:45 pm

I’m happy and worried for the Boyle, yes she’s doing extremely well at the moment having become just as popular here in the UK, as over the pond in the US. But will her health suffer the consequences? Let’s be honest she is quite fragile, having been in rehab twice already for exhaustion and all before the release of her debut album.
We are all fascinated that this, I’m going to say it, unattractive but gentle women has become a singing sensation so quickly and all thanks to the Cowell Factor. But will our Simon bleed her dry before she’s even started? I think this will be the case as Simon wants cash and cash is Susan. Well she’s gained him a lot of that as her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, sold 410,000 (UK) copies beating the likes of Leona Lewis, Lady GaGa and Rihanna. The album also has the biggest first week sales for any artist album in UK chart history.
Susan is rapidly becoming the star she deserves to be but will she be strong enough to reap the rewards of this truly extraordinary amount of stardom.  One hopes that she will.
