These memories are taken from Yolkstalks new favourite website – Thenoughtiespage.com. It’s the first online time capsule of the Noughties, a ‘unique account of the Noughties from real people like you’. We just love it! Here are the top 10 events and as you can see 9/11 and Obama dominate–
1. As I watched the 2nd tower fall, I closed my eyes and waited for the end credits of the movie. They never came. Louise-Rose, NY
2. The Twin Towers were a picture of this decade, along with the face of death – Bush. May he rot in a place extremely hot! Joel, Alaska
3. Who’d ever thought: the towers would fall, the hurricane would destroy, Bush remained until the president was black – The Noughties. John, NY
4. Some good and some bad memories. 9/11 changed the world forever, Euro, Barack Obama, Olympic Games in Sydney, Athens, Beijing. Kate, Cardiff
5. The collapse of Lehman Brothers hit me very hard as I lost my job but it also highlighted that bankers spend too much. Herald

6. The Iraq war lost unnecessary lives on both sides for no apparent reason. A shameful part of the Noughties. Omar
7. I blame 9/11 for this decade being what it was, it all went downhill from there, the war was pathetic & a waste of lives. Karen, LA
8. Hurricane Katrina dominates my memories of the Noughties. They went through a lot & lost even more, but they kept strong. Holly
9. During this decade I’ve noticed the damage we do to ourselves, the sacrifice made over oil & thirst for war. WE CAN DO BETTER! Joseph
10. It all started bad when Bush gained power, but we proved we’re ‘the land of the free’ when Obama became president. YES WE CAN. Leroy, USA

The time capsule has been given a facelift by TheNoughtiesPage.com. The website is a fun and easy way to leave your memories of the Noughties for all to see. Its the first online website of it’s kind. TheNoughtiesPage.com is powered by TheTextPage.com (see The Weirdest Website we’ve seen so far), and is full of colourful text just like it. Not only does it allow you to submit a 140 character summary of your decade for free, it also allows you to donate to Cancer Research UK with the click of a button – if you choose. This is a great feature of the website as people can donate if they choose or simply write their mark on the Noughties and leave. But I will add that I’m about to write mine & will donate!
Join the Noughties revolution, here’s some examples to help you write yours –
• The Noughties – climate change, Obama, Bush, 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Tsunami, Iraq, Recession, Avatar, Tiger Woods!?! Donate! Nick , ND
• The decade that lost Michael Jackson! I bought a ticket – My life long dream! I love you Michael, you’ll never be forgotten. RIP xx Ray, FL
• I hate the noughties as music has been destroyed & TV is over run by stupid people trying to be famous. Anon, London
• Estoy estudiando japonés durante 5 años . Mi novia japonesa estudia español durante 2 años y habla perfect. Javi Madrid
• Has time gone that quick? Advise to the nx generation- recycle, don’t abuse the planet and take note of the events in the noughties! Sam, UK
