These memories are taken from Yolkstalks new favourite website – Thenoughtiespage.com. It’s the first online time capsule of the Noughties, a ‘unique account of the Noughties from real people like you’. We just love it! Here are the top 10 events and as you can see 9/11 and Obama dominate–
1. As I watched the 2nd tower fall, I closed my eyes and waited for the end credits of the movie. They never came. Louise-Rose, NY
2. The Twin Towers were a picture of this decade, along with the face of death – Bush. May he rot in a place extremely hot! Joel, Alaska
3. Who’d ever thought: the towers would fall, the hurricane would destroy, Bush remained until the president was black – The Noughties. John, NY
4. Some good and some bad memories. 9/11 changed the world forever, Euro, Barack Obama, Olympic Games in Sydney, Athens, Beijing. Kate, Cardiff
5. The collapse of Lehman Brothers hit me very hard as I lost my job but it also highlighted that bankers spend too much. Herald

6. The Iraq war lost unnecessary lives on both sides for no apparent reason. A shameful part of the Noughties. Omar
7. I blame 9/11 for this decade being what it was, it all went downhill from there, the war was pathetic & a waste of lives. Karen, LA
8. Hurricane Katrina dominates my memories of the Noughties. They went through a lot & lost even more, but they kept strong. Holly
9. During this decade I’ve noticed the damage we do to ourselves, the sacrifice made over oil & thirst for war. WE CAN DO BETTER! Joseph
10. It all started bad when Bush gained power, but we proved we’re ‘the land of the free’ when Obama became president. YES WE CAN. Leroy, USA
